I’ve been using “Schwarzkopf Professional Super Hold Lacquer” for many years, as I found it to have a natural looking hold and it added a bit of a shine. Then about a year ago I changed to their cheaper “Schwarzkopf Extra Care Super Styling Lacquer”, because I found it gave the same result. But, oh dear, they test on animals!
I went to Shampoo ‘n’ Things (Albany) to find a more humane alternative. They stock the De Lorenzo and Paul Mitchell range of hair products which are both cruelty-free. I chose to try a hairspray from the De Lorenzo range.
Review
“De Lorenzo Elements Granite Strong Hold Hair Lacquer” suits my requirements perfectly and is animal friendly!
As I have a cowlick to tame, I mostly use hairspray to set my fringe. This product has a good hold, a healthy shine, allows natural movement and brushes out easily. I don’t have a great sense of smell, so I get others to advise me on the scent of products, but I personally do prefer the scent of this hairspray to others.
Packaging – Aerosol can; stylish design; easy to use; fine spray
Efficacy – A good flexible hold; natural shine; brushes out
Scent – Smells like cinnamon and vanilla
Price – Paid $22 from Shampoo ‘n’ Things at Westfield Albany; a good price for a salon product
Cruelty Free Commitment – Accredited by SAFE Shopper and Chose Cruelty Free; website statement; “no animal ingredients or testing” labelling on products; Vegan
